Valendra Art

I live in Boulder, Colorado and have been working with art in many forms since I was a child: my grandmother did oil painting and created sculptures and figurines, and my mother was an interior decorator and had an art gallery in our apartment in New York City. I also spent many hours in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Guggenheim Museum. As an adult, I have taken art courses and art history classes at CU Boulder, and apprenticed with several local artists.

Since retiring from my career teaching children with special needs, I ave been devoting most of my waking hours to painting, experimenting with sculpture, and creating handmade leather-bound journal (many of them with paper that I press and marble myself). My paintings especially are pure inspiration for me and I never know beforehand where the Muse will lead me. I just begin with a color and a brush stroke and am off and running. Recently I have become more interested in sharing my joy in creation with other people and have been selling my work through friends and acquaintances, online, and in local fairs. I hope that you enjoy my creations!
